Jean-Michel Folon
Jean-Michel Folon 1934-2005), was a Belgian watercolourist, painter, engraver and sculptor.
During a friendly lunch with Rudy Vanlancker at “110”, he offered to draw the invitation to the opening of the first “Léon de Bruxelles” restaurant in Paris.
It includes all the Belgian standards (Belgian flag, speculoos, potatoes), as well as an Eiffel Tower on its way to Paris.

You gotta try the mussels and frites here, seriously, just order them without even looking at the menu! If you think that's not enough, just grab some frites and waffles as a snack between lunch and dinner. I'd suggest having a light dinner here and then heading out to enjoy some more Belgian beers in the city. The staff are totally used to tourists and they've got multilingual menus, so you won't have any trouble at all.

To be honest, the food was good. I had mussels with curry, a waffle, and a beer for €62.However, as the dining room started to empty, I noticed mice (or small rats) running around. I mentioned this to the manager, who told me that nothing could be done since the doors are open, although regular pest control is supposedly carried out.In terms of hygiene, there is clearly room for improvement.

This was the first place we visited after arriving, found by chance while walking around. It was very crowded, so we guessed it must be good..The mussels with cheese were tasty, though the mussels were a bit less fresh than at another place we went to the next day.The Leon beer is a must-try 🍻🍻

J’ai ADORÉ! Personnellement, je ne suis pas fan des moules. Mais c’était exquis! Des huîtres, au murailles qui décorent le restaurant et leurs hommages au schtroumpfs, cette endroit est un petit musée belge en lui même! At first, we were unsure because the Google rating was low and the restaurant is right in the middle of a tourist area. We didn’t plan to eat here, but it was late and raining, so we decided to give it a try and we’re so glad we did!When in Brussels, of course we ordered the mussels & frites and mashed potatoes with sausages. Everything was delicious. The mussels were fresh and flavorful, the fries were crispy, and the sausages with mash were comforting and tasty. I paired it with their LEON beer and it was perfect together.The staff was friendly and fast, which we appreciated. The ambiance was cozy and warm, especially nice on a rainy night. It ended up being a great experience. Definitely give it a try!

青口Moules一如既往的稳定好吃😋，小朋友们喜欢。店员态度两极化，有个店员在餐厅营业柜台吃饭，我们点餐他说有人会来接待，吃完了收拾，直接扭脸说请稍等。后面是另一位亚裔服务员服务我们，非常满意。同一家点差异如此之大，可见管理之难度。。。

Our first stop for food in Brussels. We were very happy with the food. Service was very efficient. Dishes were pretty tasty. We had lasgna, french onion soup, amongst other dishes. We would definitely recommend to others

Мы были в этом кафе два вечера подряд.В первый вечер всё было просто замечательно: еда вкусная, подача красивая, обслуживание быстрое и приятное. Нам очень понравилось, поэтому мы решили вернуться снова.К сожалению, во второй вечер впечатление испортилось. Мы заказали блюдо по фото из меню, но нам принесли заказ в неполной комплектации — не хватало мидий и соуса. Визуально и по наполнению это совсем не соответствовало тому, что было представлено на фотографии. Как минимум официант должен был нам об этом предупредить.Считаем, что при такой цене ожидание и реальность должны совпадать. Очень жаль, потому что после первого визита впечатление было отличное.

A la lecture des avis, j'ai pas mal hésité mais on s est lancé quand même. Agréablement surpris par le lieu qui d'un point de vue décoration est tres sympaToilettes propres (début de service). Serveurs sympathiques, service rapide. Avons pris menus soupe bien chaude et bien bonne, salade de lardons juste tièdes pour les lardons, auraient mérités un chouia de chaleur.Plat poisson tres bien.Desserts chocolat et crème caramel tout à fait corrects. Avec une boisson, le tout pour 70€ (2 adultes et 1 menu enfant)En plein centre-ville, franchement rien à dire

Wat een geweldige ervaring bij Chez Léon in België! Vanaf het moment dat we binnenkwamen werden we vriendelijk ontvangen door het personeel. De bediening was attent, professioneel en altijd met een glimlach, wat meteen zorgde voor een aangename en ontspannen sfeer.We hebben heerlijk gesmuld van de mosselen, die op verschillende manieren waren bereid. Het was echt leuk om verschillende smaken te kunnen proeven, en eerlijk gezegd waren ze allemaal even lekker! De mosselen waren vers, goed gekruid en perfect gegaard. Je proeft echt de kwaliteit en de ervaring in de keuken.De porties waren royaal en alles werd mooi gepresenteerd. Ook de bijgerechten pasten perfect bij de gerechten. Het is duidelijk dat hier met passie wordt gewerkt.Absoluut een aanrader voor iedereen die in België van lekkere mosselen wil genieten. Wij komen zeker nog eens terug!

While Chez Leon is in a touristy part of town, it doesn't fall into the 'trap' category of restaurants.Just had some fantastic mussels, ably assisted by my server Jules. Service was punctual and able to deal with my pigeon French, friendly and extremely efficient. The rest of the menu was full of extremely tempting classic Belgian fare. Could do some damage to my wallet in here!While waiting for my food I had a good chance to look at my surroundings, a mixture of old charm and kooky and kitsch extras (there's a massive smurf statue in there)Bill came to 35 euros, for a humongous pot of moules mariniere, frites and a glass of pretty darn decent house white.Overall, had a great time. Highly recommend.

홍합찜, 샐러드 먹었어요. 홍합찜은 꼭 드세요. 벨기에에서 감자튀김을 너무 많이 먹어서 샐러드를 주문했는데 현명한 선택이었습니다. 근데 메뉴에 같이 주는 감자튀김이 맛있어서 세 끼 연속으로 감튀 먹는 사람 됐네요… 이 식당 가실거면 가시기 전에는 감튀 사먹진 마세요. 식당에서 기본적으로 주는 것도 맛있습니다. 분위기가 한국인 친화적입니다. 벨기에 여행온 한국인, 일본인은 여기 다 모이는 느낌인데, 그럴만도 한게 입맛에 맞습니다. 옆 테이블의 유럽분들은 그라탕홍합과 파스타 드시던데 다음에 먹어보고 싶네요. 유쾌한 직원분들 덕분에 좋은 추억 남겼습니다.

최고였어요!! 현지 분위기도 엄청 잘 나고, 약간 가족식당같은 느낌이에요.음식은 완벽합니다!! 홍합 그라탕, 홍합탕, 피시엔칩스, 소시지랑 베이컨 있는 메뉴랑 맥주 2종류까지 골고루 시켜서 셰어했는데 어느 하나 아쉬운 메뉴는 없었어요.다만 브뤼셀 대부분이 그렇듯 프랑스어와 네덜란드어 메뉴판뿐이고, 영어도 적혀있지 않습니다.. 당황하지 마시고, 메뉴판 또는 식탁보에 있는 큐알코드 찍으시면 돼요..!! 웨이터분들은 모두 영어 유창하십니다!웨이터분도 엄청 유쾌하시고, 특히 한국인이라고 하니까 i love Korea 배지를 보여주시면서 재미있게 말 걸어 주셨습니다ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ아기, 강아지도 맘껏 출입할 수 있고 특징적인 약간의 소란도 다 허용되는 분위기입니다. 동시에 고급지고 조용조용한 분위기를 선호하시는 분은 살짝 뒤로가기... 그러나 저는 오히려 활기차고 화목한 공동체 느낌 속에서의 식사라 아주 즐거웠어요..!완전히 저녁시간은 아주 붐비는 편이라, 점심시간과 저녁시간 사이에 이른 저녁을 먹으러 찾아갔고, 웨이팅도 없었습니다! 저는 시키지 않았지만, 런치세트도 오후 5시까지 주문 가능하니 참고하세요..!

J’ai mangé chez Léon à Bruxelles et je tenais vraiment à laisser un commentaire pour souligner l’excellent service de Yamal.C’est un serveur d’un grand professionnalisme : attentif, organisé, efficace et toujours souriant. Mais au-delà de ça, sa gentillesse et son attitude bienveillante font toute la différence.Il met à l’aise, prend le temps avec les clients et donne vraiment envie de revenir.Un service de grande qualité, comme on aimerait en voir plus souvent.Merci beaucoup Yamal pour cette très belle expérience.

It was my first time visiting this place and it was absolutely amazing! Food came in big portions and tasted really good as well.What impressed me most is the way they decorated their place. Every corner is perfectly photogenic which describes well about Brussel.Really nice to have lunch here. Of course I will definitely come back again :)

Generalmente, el restaurante estaba muy bien decorado y con un gran servicio. Daban pan para acompañar, el cual también estaba muy sabroso.Los camareros eran muy amables y eran rápidos. Es una buena zona para comer, pero estaría mejor que cambiarán un plato en específico.La primera comida estaba bastante buena, era sopa con puerro y le doy un 8/10. Sin embargo, la segunda comida, que era salchicha con una especie de puré raro y vegetales, no estaba tan buena. Le doy un 5/10, ya que lo único que me gustó fue la salchicha, y los vegetales estuvieron un poco malos, pero comí algunos. El puré era lo peor del plato, ya que no tenía una sabor disfrutable, sinceramente.Lo demás, como el postre estaba muy bueno y lo disfruté mucho.Eso es todo, adiós.

This was the first place we visited after arriving, found by chance while walking around. It was very crowded, so we guessed it must be good..The mussels with cheese were tasty, though the mussels were a bit less fresh than at another place we went to the next day.The Leon beer is a must-try 🍻🍻

我們來自台灣高雄，第一次來比利時，搜尋這家百年名店很棒，所以先來預訂，果然沒有讓我們失望，很好吃生意非常好，總共有三層樓，滿滿滿滿的人，推薦可以來吃美味的淡菜！

J’ai ADORÉ! Personnellement, je ne suis pas fan des moules. Mais c’était exquis! Des huîtres, au murailles qui décorent le restaurant et leurs hommages au schtroumpfs, cette endroit est un petit musée belge en lui même! Sans oublier que nos serveurs on était tellement chaleureux et amicale! (Honorable mention à Sébastien et Larsen qui on était si gentille!) J‘espère pouvoir revenir bientôt :)

At first, we were unsure because the Google rating was low and the restaurant is right in the middle of a tourist area. We didn’t plan to eat here, but it was late and raining, so we decided to give it a try and we’re so glad we did!When in Brussels, of course we ordered the mussels & frites and mashed potatoes with sausages. Everything was delicious. The mussels were fresh and flavorful, the fries were crispy, and the sausages with mash were comforting and tasty. I paired it with their LEON beer and it was perfect together.The staff was friendly and fast, which we appreciated. The ambiance was cozy and warm, especially nice on a rainy night. It ended up being a great experience. Definitely give it a try!

青口Moules一如既往的稳定好吃😋，小朋友们喜欢。店员态度两极化，有个店员在餐厅营业柜台吃饭，我们点餐他说有人会来接待，吃完了收拾，直接扭脸说请稍等。后面是另一位亚裔服务员服务我们，非常满意。同一家点差异如此之大，可见管理之难度。。。

Our first stop for food in Brussels. We were very happy with the food. Service was very efficient. Dishes were pretty tasty. We had lasgna, french onion soup, amongst other dishes. We would definitely recommend to others

Мы были в этом кафе два вечера подряд.В первый вечер всё было просто замечательно: еда вкусная, подача красивая, обслуживание быстрое и приятное. Нам очень понравилось, поэтому мы решили вернуться снова.К сожалению, во второй вечер впечатление испортилось. Мы заказали блюдо по фото из меню, но нам принесли заказ в неполной комплектации — не хватало мидий и соуса. Визуально и по наполнению это совсем не соответствовало тому, что было представлено на фотографии. Как минимум официант должен был нам об этом предупредить.Считаем, что при такой цене ожидание и реальность должны совпадать. Очень жаль, потому что после первого визита впечатление было отличное.

A la lecture des avis, j'ai pas mal hésité mais on s est lancé quand même. Agréablement surpris par le lieu qui d'un point de vue décoration est tres sympaToilettes propres (début de service). Serveurs sympathiques, service rapide. Avons pris menus soupe bien chaude et bien bonne, salade de lardons juste tièdes pour les lardons, auraient mérités un chouia de chaleur.Plat poisson tres bien.Desserts chocolat et crème caramel tout à fait corrects. Avec une boisson, le tout pour 70€ (2 adultes et 1 menu enfant)En plein centre-ville, franchement rien à dire

Wat een geweldige ervaring bij Chez Léon in België! Vanaf het moment dat we binnenkwamen werden we vriendelijk ontvangen door het personeel. De bediening was attent, professioneel en altijd met een glimlach, wat meteen zorgde voor een aangename en ontspannen sfeer.We hebben heerlijk gesmuld van de mosselen, die op verschillende manieren waren bereid. Het was echt leuk om verschillende smaken te kunnen proeven, en eerlijk gezegd waren ze allemaal even lekker! De mosselen waren vers, goed gekruid en perfect gegaard. Je proeft echt de kwaliteit en de ervaring in de keuken.De porties waren royaal en alles werd mooi gepresenteerd. Ook de bijgerechten pasten perfect bij de gerechten. Het is duidelijk dat hier met passie wordt gewerkt.Absoluut een aanrader voor iedereen die in België van lekkere mosselen wil genieten. Wij komen zeker nog eens terug!

While Chez Leon is in a touristy part of town, it doesn't fall into the 'trap' category of restaurants.Just had some fantastic mussels, ably assisted by my server Jules. Service was punctual and able to deal with my pigeon French, friendly and extremely efficient. The rest of the menu was full of extremely tempting classic Belgian fare. Could do some damage to my wallet in here!While waiting for my food I had a good chance to look at my surroundings, a mixture of old charm and kooky and kitsch extras (there's a massive smurf statue in there)Bill came to 35 euros, for a humongous pot of moules mariniere, frites and a glass of pretty darn decent house white.Overall, had a great time. Highly recommend.

홍합찜, 샐러드 먹었어요. 홍합찜은 꼭 드세요. 벨기에에서 감자튀김을 너무 많이 먹어서 샐러드를 주문했는데 현명한 선택이었습니다. 근데 메뉴에 같이 주는 감자튀김이 맛있어서 세 끼 연속으로 감튀 먹는 사람 됐네요… 이 식당 가실거면 가시기 전에는 감튀 사먹진 마세요. 식당에서 기본적으로 주는 것도 맛있습니다. 분위기가 한국인 친화적입니다. 벨기에 여행온 한국인, 일본인은 여기 다 모이는 느낌인데, 그럴만도 한게 입맛에 맞습니다. 옆 테이블의 유럽분들은 그라탕홍합과 파스타 드시던데 다음에 먹어보고 싶네요. 유쾌한 직원분들 덕분에 좋은 추억 남겼습니다.

최고였어요!! 현지 분위기도 엄청 잘 나고, 약간 가족식당같은 느낌이에요.음식은 완벽합니다!! 홍합 그라탕, 홍합탕, 피시엔칩스, 소시지랑 베이컨 있는 메뉴랑 맥주 2종류까지 골고루 시켜서 셰어했는데 어느 하나 아쉬운 메뉴는 없었어요.다만 브뤼셀 대부분이 그렇듯 프랑스어와 네덜란드어 메뉴판뿐이고, 영어도 적혀있지 않습니다.. 당황하지 마시고, 메뉴판 또는 식탁보에 있는 큐알코드 찍으시면 돼요..!! 웨이터분들은 모두 영어 유창하십니다!웨이터분도 엄청 유쾌하시고, 특히 한국인이라고 하니까 i love Korea 배지를 보여주시면서 재미있게 말 걸어 주셨습니다ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ아기, 강아지도 맘껏 출입할 수 있고 특징적인 약간의 소란도 다 허용되는 분위기입니다. 동시에 고급지고 조용조용한 분위기를 선호하시는 분은 살짝 뒤로가기... 그러나 저는 오히려 활기차고 화목한 공동체 느낌 속에서의 식사라 아주 즐거웠어요..!완전히 저녁시간은 아주 붐비는 편이라, 점심시간과 저녁시간 사이에 이른 저녁을 먹으러 찾아갔고, 웨이팅도 없었습니다! 저는 시키지 않았지만, 런치세트도 오후 5시까지 주문 가능하니 참고하세요..!

J’ai mangé chez Léon à Bruxelles et je tenais vraiment à laisser un commentaire pour souligner l’excellent service de Yamal.C’est un serveur d’un grand professionnalisme : attentif, organisé, efficace et toujours souriant. Mais au-delà de ça, sa gentillesse et son attitude bienveillante font toute la différence.Il met à l’aise, prend le temps avec les clients et donne vraiment envie de revenir.Un service de grande qualité, comme on aimerait en voir plus souvent.Merci beaucoup Yamal pour cette très belle expérience.

It was my first time visiting this place and it was absolutely amazing! Food came in big portions and tasted really good as well.What impressed me most is the way they decorated their place. Every corner is perfectly photogenic which describes well about Brussel.Really nice to have lunch here. Of course I will definitely come back again :)

Generalmente, el restaurante estaba muy bien decorado y con un gran servicio. Daban pan para acompañar, el cual también estaba muy sabroso.Los camareros eran muy amables y eran rápidos. Es una buena zona para comer, pero estaría mejor que cambiarán un plato en específico.La primera comida estaba bastante buena, era sopa con puerro y le doy un 8/10. Sin embargo, la segunda comida, que era salchicha con una especie de puré raro y vegetales, no estaba tan buena. Le doy un 5/10, ya que lo único que me gustó fue la salchicha, y los vegetales estuvieron un poco malos, pero comí algunos. El puré era lo peor del plato, ya que no tenía una sabor disfrutable, sinceramente.Lo demás, como el postre estaba muy bueno y lo disfruté mucho.Eso es todo, adiós.
