Eddy Merckx
Edouard Louis Joseph, Baron Merckx (born 17 June 1945), better known as Eddy Merckx, is a Belgian former professional road and track bicycle racer who is widely seen as the most successful rider in the history of competitive cycling.
His victories include an unequalled eleven Grand Tours (5 Tours of France, 5 Tours of Italy, 1 Tour of Spain), 31 Classics including 19 in the five Monuments, 3 World Championships, the Hour Record, every major one-day races, and extensive victories on the track.
He was nicknamed “The Cannibal” due to his unwillingness to let anyone else win.
Merckx achieved 525 victories over his eighteen-year career.
This Belgian hero definitely has a place in Léon’s heart. He was our sponsor for the opening of “Léon de Bruxelles” in Düsseldorf, and his portrait was also on the invitation.

Ursprünglich wollte ich in ein anderes Restaurant gehen, aber als ich an diesem vorbeikam, sah es so einladend aus, dass ich spontan hineinging – und es war die richtige Entscheidung! Das Essen war absolut frisch und lecker, der Service schnell und freundlich, und die Preise waren sehr fair. Ich war wirklich begeistert – kann ich nur weiterempfehlen!

Sehr zentral gelegenes Restaurant. Von der Atmosphäre und der Ausstattung gefiel mir das Restaurant gut. Das Essen überzeugte mich nicht. Mein Gericht (Waterzooi mit Hühnchen nach Ghenter Art mit gekochten Kartoffeln) empfand ich doch als geschmacklich sehr neutral.

Por recomendación del guía turístico nos aconsejo este lugar para comer algo típico de Bélgica con diferentes platos de mejillones y patatas ...,pero antes de ir me puse a leer las reseñas y eso hizo que estuviera a punto de no ir ... finalmente decidí ir y fue todo un acierto !!! Camarero guay, nos hizo pasar una cena muy divertida, comida exquisita,... soy un crítico de Google con muchas reseñas ... ya te digo yo que este sitio no se merece esa puntuación...Si estás por Bruselas tienes que comer algún día.

Her şeyiyle 10 numara 1yerdi benim için.. Rezervasyon yaptırarak gittik elbette.. Atmosfer çok hoştu.. Yemekler de inanılmaz lezzetliydi.. Elbette deniz ürünleri sevenler için.. Entramos en Chez León por todo lo q se habla de él en internet y por las largas colas q veíamos al pasar y he de decir q fue un acierto! El lugar es de lo más original mezclando lo clásico y los cómics! La comida típica belga muy buena! Pero lo mejor y q nos haría volver es el camarero q nos atendió…Paul es super atento y además habla español!!! Recomiendo el sitio a los españoles q vengan a Bruselas.

有訂位，叫我們上樓，沒有位子又請我們下樓。最後選了個空桌給我們，點餐等超過10分鐘才開始點。蒜香焗烤淡菜味道不錯，但pasta味道就有點普通，服務生分區服務，但速度真的很慢，點餐要wait，付款也要wait，各別等了5-10分鐘。

Jedzenie pyszne, obsługa bardzo miła, mimo dużego ruchu w restauracji szybko znaleźli nam stolik i nas obsłużyli. Co do samej restauracji, fajny klimat, dla mnie trochę za głośno, stoliki również są blisko siebie i nie są zbyt duże, to też zależy od wielkości grupy 😊

La comida estaba muy rica. La carne estafada con cerveza es un espectáculo y nos sorprendieron muchísimo los mejillones con ajo y mantequilla. Los postres estaban buenísimos. Y lo mejor de la comida fue la presencia de Sebastián, un camarero que nos alegró la velada con su simpatía y amabilidad.Hemos pagado unos 35 eur persona.Carne, mejillones, refresco, vino, pany 2 postres.Muy recomendable.

Un très bon accueil de la part d’Anouar qui a été notre serveur lors de notre dîner.J’ai commandé un demi poulet avec de la compote chaude, le plat était excellent. J’ai même pu avoir une deuxième portion de compte chaude.Le service était très bon, professionnel et attentif à la demande de la clientèle, avec le sourire.

Went there three times during my stay in Brussels. Loved the food, waiters had great attitude and good english. Atmosphere is nice and I admired loads of old details in the interior. Place does get crowded though and tables are placed very close to each other but I found it to be like that in most places in Brussels.

A lovely place with a really special atmosphere. Everything felt welcoming and relaxed, making it easy to enjoy the evening. The food was truly delicious – the mussels in particular were outstanding, full of flavor and cooked to perfection. There’s also a thoughtful selection of wines that pairs beautifully with the dishes. It’s the kind of spot where you feel like staying longer than planned. Definitely a place I’d be happy to return to.

A place that not to miss. Mussels, fries and beer. All are nice in Chez Leon. Staff are friendly and welcoming, we at at outside to enjoy the cooling weather and atmosphere. We enjoy our Brussels Dinner here.

It was our restaurant of choice for our first evening in Brussels. We chose the Complet Leon and appetizers for dinner. They were delicious classics, more than we expected. Even though it was a busy hour, we were pleased with the warm welcome of the waiters.We were especially pleased with Mr. Amine's hospitality. We were still laughing while we were returning to the hotel:)

Lugar perfecto para degustar todas las especialidades de la cocina belga.Un edificio entero con multitud de rincones diferentes que te sorprenden a cada paso que das. Ambientes para grupos grandes o cenas más íntimas.Situado en pleno centro de la ciudad, con vistas a la Grand Place y a escasos metros del callejón de la cerveza Delírium y la estatua escondida de la Jeanneke Pis.Que no te eche para atrás su aspecto turístico porque además de muchos viajeros también acude allí público local, toda una garantía de acierto.

Nous avons commandé les moules-frites. Les frites, très bonnes, rien à redire. En revanche, les moules manquaient de marinade à mon goût — je pense qu’une version à la crème aurait apporté plus de saveur. L’ambiance est agréable, mais petit bémol sur le service des boissons : elles arrivent directement versées, sans la bouteille ou la canette à côté du verre. Dans un restaurant de ce niveau, j’aimerais éviter ce côté “fast food”.Un grand merci cependant à M. Massimo pour l’accueil, très chaleureux et professionnel, ce qui a rendu notre visite plaisante. 👍🏼

ムール貝を食べさせるレストランは他にもたくさんあるので、特にこのお店にこだわる必要はないかなと思いました。ものすごく期待して行ったのですが、ムール貝のワイン蒸しもグラタンもフレンチフライも調理後だいぶ時間が経っていたような温度で供されました。観光地の人気店なので客はけを重視していそうな雰囲気です。場所は観光の中心地なので便利な場所です。

Dopo 3 anni a Bruxelles volevo finalmente assaggiare les mules et frites.Léon è il posto migliore per farlo, ottimo rapporto qualità prezzo in una location suggestiva in centroUnica pecca, mi hanno “presa in giro” dicendo che non accettano cheques repas quando hanno uno sticker enorme sulla porta e li riesci a trovare sulle varie app partner. Sarebbe stato meglio dirmi “non li accettiamo nel weekend” invece di far finta che il pos si fosse bloccato lol

Staff were very friendly, and the prices were fair. We've been looking for a place to eat that was accommodating, and had fantastic food and I'm glad we found this place. I think They got arrogant and cocky because the business is good.We made reservation for our dinner but seems like it may not be necessary because there are lots seats on the second floor still available!The seating in the entire restaurant is too crowded also. Not comfortable at all!Ten minutes after we seated, waiter finally took our order. 15 minutes later our order arrived!If I only rating the kitchen, this kitchen deserves five star. My pasta is cooked in perfection. My wife also loved her bowl of muscles!

A place that not to miss. Mussels, fries and beer. All are nice in Chez Leon. Staff are friendly and welcoming, we at at outside to enjoy the cooling weather and atmosphere. We enjoy our Brussels Dinner here.

It was our restaurant of choice for our first evening in Brussels. We chose the Complet Leon and appetizers for dinner. They were delicious classics, more than we expected. Even though it was a busy hour, we were pleased with the warm welcome of the waiters.We were especially pleased with Mr. Amine's hospitality. We were still laughing while we were returning to the hotel:)

Lugar perfecto para degustar todas las especialidades de la cocina belga.Un edificio entero con multitud de rincones diferentes que te sorprenden a cada paso que das. Ambientes para grupos grandes o cenas más íntimas.Situado en pleno centro de la ciudad, con vistas a la Grand Place y a escasos metros del callejón de la cerveza Delírium y la estatua escondida de la Jeanneke Pis.Que no te eche para atrás su aspecto turístico porque además de muchos viajeros también acude allí público local, toda una garantía de acierto.

Nous avons commandé les moules-frites. Les frites, très bonnes, rien à redire. En revanche, les moules manquaient de marinade à mon goût — je pense qu’une version à la crème aurait apporté plus de saveur. L’ambiance est agréable, mais petit bémol sur le service des boissons : elles arrivent directement versées, sans la bouteille ou la canette à côté du verre. Dans un restaurant de ce niveau, j’aimerais éviter ce côté “fast food”.Un grand merci cependant à M. Massimo pour l’accueil, très chaleureux et professionnel, ce qui a rendu notre visite plaisante. 👍🏼

Perfekt att boka för större sällskap. Bokar du som grupp skapar de en meny åt dig efter dina val och prisklass som sällskapet kan välja mellan.Riktigt bra!Sen är maten välsmakande och alla i gruppen (17 pers.) var nöjda!

ムール貝を食べさせるレストランは他にもたくさんあるので、特にこのお店にこだわる必要はないかなと思いました。ものすごく期待して行ったのですが、ムール貝のワイン蒸しもグラタンもフレンチフライも調理後だいぶ時間が経っていたような温度で供されました。観光地の人気店なので客はけを重視していそうな雰囲気です。場所は観光の中心地なので便利な場所です。

Türkiye’de böyle bir midyeyi hiçbir yerde bulamazsınız, burası kesinlikle bambaşka bir deneyim sunuyor. Deniz ürünlerini seven herkese şiddetle tavsiye ederim. 👌🦪✨⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️An absolute delight!We tried the Beurre à l’ail and Beurre à l’ail gratinées, and they were absolutely delicious. The garlic butter flavor was perfectly balanced, and the gratin version with cheese took it to another level. You simply cannot find mussels like this anywhere in Türkiye – this place offers a truly unique experience. Highly recommended for all seafood lovers. 🦪✨

Dopo 3 anni a Bruxelles volevo finalmente assaggiare les mules et frites.Léon è il posto migliore per farlo, ottimo rapporto qualità prezzo in una location suggestiva in centroUnica pecca, mi hanno “presa in giro” dicendo che non accettano cheques repas quando hanno uno sticker enorme sulla porta e li riesci a trovare sulle varie app partner. Sarebbe stato meglio dirmi “non li accettiamo nel weekend” invece di far finta che il pos si fosse bloccato lol

No se come mal, pero es un sitio muy sobrevalorado y unos mejillones carísimos para lo que son. El servicio es rápido, ya que les interesa que comas y te vayas lo más rápido posible para sentar a otros turistas.

Staff were very friendly, and the prices were fair. We've been looking for a place to eat that was accommodating, and had fantastic food and I'm glad we found this place. Writing this review on my own volition, despite the business they still set us up with a table. If you're looking for a spot for food, you can order here reliably.

I think They got arrogant and cocky because the business is good.We made reservation for our dinner but seems like it may not be necessary because there are lots seats on the second floor still available!The seating in the entire restaurant is too crowded also. Not comfortable at all!Ten minutes after we seated, waiter finally took our order. 15 minutes later our order arrived!If I only rating the kitchen, this kitchen deserves five star. My pasta is cooked in perfection. My wife also loved her bowl of muscles!

I think I have never eaten real mussels before this experience. Coming from Poland I’ve expected a small pan. What landed on our tables amazed me - what was inside the shells did even more. Great service, beautiful restaurant with history.
