Waffles
The Brussels waffle is a large rectangular waffle made from a light batter, with large, square, deep indentations.
They can be eaten warm or cold, often with toppings such as whipped cream, sugar, soft fruit, chocolate spread, syrup or butter. They can also be served with vanilla ice cream and fresh fruit such as strawberries.
At “Chez Léon”, we serve them with sugar, whipped cream and other classic toppings, but our favourite is the Léon Waffle, served hot with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, hot chocolate sauce and a lot of whipped cream.

It is a very big and wonderful restaurant. 12 of us went without making a reservation. Thankfully they accepted for our short-stat-dinner. It is a old restaurant with a nice location and design. We sat at the tables on the street. The waiters were friendly and fast. The food was delicious. The prices were reasonable. We tried seafood. The mussels were great and the fish was very fresh. and delicious. As we were leaving, a long queue of people had already formed.

A great place to go for classic moules frites. The mussels and broth were delicious, and the serving size was impressive for the price -- you could easily share one serving between two people if you aren't too hungry. The frites were fine, could have been crunchier but still very tasty. We sat outside and it was a great spot for people watching.

Sitio centrico y típico para ir a comer mejillones cocinados en diferentes formas. Si vas con niños menores de 12 años comen gratis. La cerveza tiene un precio elevado. El ambiente es espectacular, la verdad que no para de entrar gente y los camareros siempre están atentos. Si el precio sería más asequible sería un sitio de 10.... Bonjour à Tous,Parisien de passage à Bruxelles le week-end dernier en Famille et quelques autres proches, c'était la 4ème fois que l'on se rendait dans ce Léon en 2 ans. Tout y est super Bon, sympa et le décor m'a toujours fait penser à l'ambiance des saloons qu'ils y avaient autrefois dans les films westerns de l'époque. En général, c'était la Jeune Mélissa qui s'occupait de nous mais cette fois-ci, ce fut Anouar qui a fait le boulot. Lui seul... Et BIEN comme il faut, s'il vous plaît... Anouar a été Top de chez Top, il nous a mis à l'aise dès notre arrivée jusqu'à la fin. Il a été à l'écoute, nous a même conseillé certaines choses qu'on ignorait et s'est occupé de nous comme de sa propre Famille. Donc du coup, nous nous sommes immédiatement senti comme chez nous à la maison. Ah oui, lès Prix sont vachement intéressants et abordables par TOUS.. Personnellement, je trouve que Anouar a absolument toute sa place dans la Famille Léon et nous espérons que ce sera encore Lui qui nous accueillera lors de notre prochain passage à Bruxelles..Je vous recommande ce Léon les yeux fermés car il en vaut vachement le détour, croyez-moi. Je dirais même que c'est presqu'une obligation (autant que le Manneken Pis 😜) d'y faire un tour pour le découvrir. Et un seul et ultime conseil: demandez Anouar dès votre arrivée et vous serez comblé autant que nous le fûmes...Merci beaucoup à Tous ceux qui prendront le soin de lire cet avis jusqu'au bout et qui s'y rendront..🙏🤲❤

Fui a este restaurante porque habían reservado unos amigos de Bruselas. Esta muy cerca de la Grand Place y es un sitio icónico en Bruselas. Sin embargo, ha perdido mucho últimamente. El restaurante estaba lleno con poco espacio y sales con olor a comida después de estar allí un rato. El camarero fue bastante borde. Éramos un grupo ligeramente numeroso y parecía que le molestaba. Lo cual no me extraña porque estaban saturados. La comida es de calidad pero la desmerece el ambiente y el servicio. Si solo estas de paso por Bruselas no sería mi primera opción

ベルギー料理のお店とのことでお昼はとても多くの人で賑わっていました。皆さんのテーブルを見るとみんなムール貝料理を食べているので、自分もムール貝のグラタンのような料理を食べましたが、これがなかなかに美味しくて当たりでした！近くでレストランをお探しなら、こちらをお勧めします！

Une excellente expérience culinaire ! Le restaurant propose des moules savoureuses, parfaitement préparées selon un vrai savoir-faire. Mention spéciale à Anouar, dont l’accueil chaleureux et le professionnalisme font toute la différence. Il connaît son métier sur le bout des doigts et sait mettre les clients à l’aise dès leur arrivée. Un service attentionné, des plats généreux, et une ambiance conviviale — je recommande sans hésiter !

Le serveur Yamal était très gentil, et nous sommes ravi·es d’avoir pu découvrir la maison mère de la chaîne que nous connaissons en France !Il faut toutefois lui appliquer le coût de la vie plus cher en Belgique, et le manque de carafe d’eau gratuite, dans une région où l’eau est potable partout…

Nous avons mangé des moules frites 800g . Les moules étaient bonnes mais les frites étaient indignes d' un resto spécialiste Belge (sûrement congelé car aucun goût) !!, le tout pour un prix conséquent .... Trop cher pour la qualité !Donc rapport qualité prix très décevant pour une spécialité et une enseigne réputé !!

Dos cervezas grandes, una racion de mejillones con patatas fritas y una racion de fish and chips: 60€. Los mejillones muy normales, las patatas muy ricas, el filete de pescado blanco rebozado era como de comedor de colegio. El local es muy bonito,.los baños muy limpios y el servicio atento pero nos desalojaron tan deprisa de la mesa que ni pedimos postre.Veniamos con ganas por haber leido en guias y blogs que es un sitio historico. Claramente para turistas.

お昼を食べそこね、15時過ぎの訪問でした。前日の19時頃通ったら行列でしたが、並ばず、予約もなしで行くならお昼や夕食時以外をおすすめします。アジア人ヘイトの口コミを見てビビっていましたが、1階の窓際に座らせてもらいましたし、（お隣や周りは静かに食事をしている西洋人ばかりでした）オーダーも外国ではゆっくりなのでそんなものって感じです。そもそも日本式の手のあげ方は欧米では失礼ですし、呼びつけるのも失礼なので目を合わせる等テーブル担当者にわかってもらえるようにする努力を…と言いつつ、私も声掛けしてしまいましたが。私達のテーブル担当者は感じ良かったです。印象はテーブル担当者によるところが大きいですね。料理を勢いよく置くのも、割とどこの高級料理店でもありますし、日本の丁寧さに慣れてると全部失礼に感じるのだと思います。ムール貝は白ワインと小エビのコロッケが絶対食べたかったので頼みました。ムール貝はシーズンでは無いので小ぶりでしたが、他店で食べたものよりふっくら仕上がっていて美味しかったです。フリットがついてきます。ソースはついて来なかったので欲しいなら頼めば良いと思います。コロッケも一人一個余裕で食べられます、美味しかったです。知り合いが頼んでいたカルボナードフラマンドも美味しそうでした。私の拙いフランス語に付き合ってくださった店員さんに感謝します。QRコードで多言語にメニュー対応してます。

Been here~ 1 year ago and today, 9th May 2025.We took Beurre à l'ail gratinées (Knoflookboter gegratineerd), Escargots de Bourgogne (Bourgondische slakken) and Spaghetti Léon.And I couldn't be more disappointed, the once delicious gratinées mussels are now tasteless.The spaghetti were overcooked, the sauce bland.And don't get me started with beer prices, the Leon beer 50cl is 9,75 EUR!The guys running the tables are great though, service is 5 *.Sorry, but you won't see me soon.

女子3人旅で利用。20時予約だったが18:30くらいに入店させてもらった。外には行列があったので、予約するのがベター。店員さんは皆フレンドリー！飲み物含め全て美味しかったが、ムール貝のガーリックグラタンは特にお勧め。そのままでももちろん美味しいが、汁をバケットにつけてみてほしい、、飲み物に関しては、お土地柄、ビールがチョイスされやすいが、ぜひキールロワイヤルを飲んでいただきたい！(こちらの不手際でグラスの中身をこぼしてしまったが、快く無料で交換してくださった。本当にありがとうございました)

2025年3月末に訪問。ブリュッセルに観光に来たからには、ベルギー料理を頂こう、ということでベルギー料理全般を提供し、有名でもある同店を訪問。ムール貝、クリームコロッケ、フリット、ビールなど一通り頂き、満足度は高い。特にムール貝は名物ということもあり、量も、味も、ほかの地域で頂くものと比べて非常に良質。貝から出たスープも美味しく、一緒に提供されるパンを浸して食べるのが、これまた美味。ビールもベルギービールを複数提供しており、同店オリジナルのビールもあり、とても美味しい。

Nice place, the food is great and you can taste the high quality, the waitress was very efficient and nice with us. We had an awesome experience, we recommend it if you want to eat the most typical belgian dish: frites et moules

Fui a este restaurante porque habían reservado unos amigos de Bruselas. Esta muy cerca de la Grand Place y es un sitio icónico en Bruselas. Sin embargo, ha perdido mucho últimamente. El restaurante estaba lleno con poco espacio y sales con olor a comida después de estar allí un rato. El camarero fue bastante borde. Éramos un grupo ligeramente numeroso y parecía que le molestaba. Lo cual no me extraña porque estaban saturados. La comida es de calidad pero la desmerece el ambiente y el servicio. Si solo estas de paso por Bruselas no sería mi primera opción

ベルギー料理のお店とのことでお昼はとても多くの人で賑わっていました。皆さんのテーブルを見るとみんなムール貝料理を食べているので、自分もムール貝のグラタンのような料理を食べましたが、これがなかなかに美味しくて当たりでした！近くでレストランをお探しなら、こちらをお勧めします！

Une excellente expérience culinaire ! Le restaurant propose des moules savoureuses, parfaitement préparées selon un vrai savoir-faire. Mention spéciale à Anouar, dont l’accueil chaleureux et le professionnalisme font toute la différence. Il connaît son métier sur le bout des doigts et sait mettre les clients à l’aise dès leur arrivée. Un service attentionné, des plats généreux, et une ambiance conviviale — je recommande sans hésiter !

Le serveur Yamal était très gentil, et nous sommes ravi·es d’avoir pu découvrir la maison mère de la chaîne que nous connaissons en France !Il faut toutefois lui appliquer le coût de la vie plus cher en Belgique, et le manque de carafe d’eau gratuite, dans une région où l’eau est potable partout…

Nous avons mangé des moules frites 800g . Les moules étaient bonnes mais les frites étaient indignes d' un resto spécialiste Belge (sûrement congelé car aucun goût) !!, le tout pour un prix conséquent .... Trop cher pour la qualité !Donc rapport qualité prix très décevant pour une spécialité et une enseigne réputé !!

Dos cervezas grandes, una racion de mejillones con patatas fritas y una racion de fish and chips: 60€. Los mejillones muy normales, las patatas muy ricas, el filete de pescado blanco rebozado era como de comedor de colegio. El local es muy bonito,.los baños muy limpios y el servicio atento pero nos desalojaron tan deprisa de la mesa que ni pedimos postre.Veniamos con ganas por haber leido en guias y blogs que es un sitio historico. Claramente para turistas.

The food is very nice and the atmosphere is wonderful. We ordered Gratin,Waterzooi and the Leon spaghetti, they were all very delicious. I especially liked the spaghetti. I strongly recommend you to visit Chez Leon

お昼を食べそこね、15時過ぎの訪問でした。前日の19時頃通ったら行列でしたが、並ばず、予約もなしで行くならお昼や夕食時以外をおすすめします。アジア人ヘイトの口コミを見てビビっていましたが、1階の窓際に座らせてもらいましたし、（お隣や周りは静かに食事をしている西洋人ばかりでした）オーダーも外国ではゆっくりなのでそんなものって感じです。そもそも日本式の手のあげ方は欧米では失礼ですし、呼びつけるのも失礼なので目を合わせる等テーブル担当者にわかってもらえるようにする努力を…と言いつつ、私も声掛けしてしまいましたが。私達のテーブル担当者は感じ良かったです。印象はテーブル担当者によるところが大きいですね。料理を勢いよく置くのも、割とどこの高級料理店でもありますし、日本の丁寧さに慣れてると全部失礼に感じるのだと思います。ムール貝は白ワインと小エビのコロッケが絶対食べたかったので頼みました。ムール貝はシーズンでは無いので小ぶりでしたが、他店で食べたものよりふっくら仕上がっていて美味しかったです。フリットがついてきます。ソースはついて来なかったので欲しいなら頼めば良いと思います。コロッケも一人一個余裕で食べられます、美味しかったです。知り合いが頼んでいたカルボナードフラマンドも美味しそうでした。私の拙いフランス語に付き合ってくださった店員さんに感謝します。QRコードで多言語にメニュー対応してます。

Been here~ 1 year ago and today, 9th May 2025.We took Beurre à l'ail gratinées (Knoflookboter gegratineerd), Escargots de Bourgogne (Bourgondische slakken) and Spaghetti Léon.And I couldn't be more disappointed, the once delicious gratinées mussels are now tasteless.The spaghetti were overcooked, the sauce bland.And don't get me started with beer prices, the Leon beer 50cl is 9,75 EUR!The guys running the tables are great though, service is 5 *.Sorry, but you won't see me soon.

My husband returns after 50 years and brings me to this lovely restaurant known for its mussels. It did NOT disappoint. Make a reservation, if possible, as the line was VERY long as we were leaving.

Le cadre est vraiment très sympa. La cuisine est bonne mais ne vaut pas le prix de certains plats. Attention, l'eau en carafe n'est proposée qu'aux groupes (??). Pour les petites tables il vous faudra payer l'eau en bouteille.

女子3人旅で利用。20時予約だったが18:30くらいに入店させてもらった。外には行列があったので、予約するのがベター。店員さんは皆フレンドリー！飲み物含め全て美味しかったが、ムール貝のガーリックグラタンは特にお勧め。そのままでももちろん美味しいが、汁をバケットにつけてみてほしい、、飲み物に関しては、お土地柄、ビールがチョイスされやすいが、ぜひキールロワイヤルを飲んでいただきたい！(こちらの不手際でグラスの中身をこぼしてしまったが、快く無料で交換してくださった。本当にありがとうございました)

2025年3月末に訪問。ブリュッセルに観光に来たからには、ベルギー料理を頂こう、ということでベルギー料理全般を提供し、有名でもある同店を訪問。ムール貝、クリームコロッケ、フリット、ビールなど一通り頂き、満足度は高い。特にムール貝は名物ということもあり、量も、味も、ほかの地域で頂くものと比べて非常に良質。貝から出たスープも美味しく、一緒に提供されるパンを浸して食べるのが、これまた美味。ビールもベルギービールを複数提供しており、同店オリジナルのビールもあり、とても美味しい。

Solid Belgian food, nothing fancy, pretty expensive for quality. Service pretty good. Recommend sea food, don’t take steak.
