Jean-Michel Folon
Jean-Michel Folon 1934-2005), was a Belgian watercolourist, painter, engraver and sculptor.
During a friendly lunch with Rudy Vanlancker at “110”, he offered to draw the invitation to the opening of the first “Léon de Bruxelles” restaurant in Paris.
It includes all the Belgian standards (Belgian flag, speculoos, potatoes), as well as an Eiffel Tower on its way to Paris.

This restaurant was great! The mussels and the escargots (butter and garlic French snails) were both very fresh and tasty! The lobster was also very good! The waiters were all very polite and friendly too.

Iconic restaurant for Moule in Brussels. Food quality is high, just too much butter in my opinion, beers can be improved. Atmosphere is lovely. The building as well. Just a bit too slow the service, we waited 45' for classic moules .

Particles from mussel shells can be a bit of a problem yet the mussels tasted good enough. The french fries were also worth trying. I tried their most basic menu item. The price-performance ratio is reasonable.

The staff was okay. It felt like there was a difference in behavior towards someone eating there solo and someone eating with others but nothing too disproportionate. The mussels were really good although I wasn’t too fond of the fries.

A lovely restaurant with a long history and very reasonable prices. We discovered it while wandering through Brussels and were pleasantly surprised by both the food and the warm hospitality.The staff were friendly, welcoming, and treated every guest with kindness. There was no pressure to leave a tip or spend more, which made the experience even more comfortable. I highly recommend the 500g mussels, beer, and fries set — it was a great value. The pasta paired perfectly with it and was also delicious. The indoor dining area is charming and cozy, with a cute decor that adds to the overall atmosphere. Definitely worth a visit!

Lovely experience for our big family tableof 8 adults and 2 children under 4. Billy the waiter was very friendly and helpful. We ate fast considering the great size of the restaurant, the food was adequate Belgian food, with lots of choice, at reasonable prices, and the toilets were clean. The design is charming. Recommended!

Really enjoyed the food and ambience of the place. Mussels were top notch, the other dish was good (a bit salty - I assume that’s the recipe). Efficient service. Highly recommend the place.

百年传奇，止于情怀——Chez Leon 晚餐体验此餐厅自1893年开业、见证布鲁塞尔百年变迁的老店，Chez Leon 在很多人心中是品尝地道贻薯条（Moules-frites）的殿堂。怀着对这份历史名号的憧憬，我们特地选在晚餐时段前往朝圣。然而，这趟百年老店的体验，多少有些“盛名之下，其实难副”的失落感。我们点了黄油蒜香贻贝、炸海鲜拼盘和白葡萄酒贻贝。黄油蒜香口味调得尚可，可惜贻贝肉质太老，完全失去了应有的鲜嫩，非常影响口感。炸海鲜拼盘里，炸虾味道还行，但炸贻贝的面粉裹得太厚，炸鱿鱼圈也只是中规中矩。最令人失望的是白葡萄酒贻贝，虽说肉质比蒜香的要嫩，但入口带着些许腥气，我推测可能是冰鲜货所致。搭配的薯条和餐前面包配的黄油，也都比较普通。环境方面，店内的装修确实保留了复古的韵味，能感受到历史的痕迹。但细节上实在不敢恭维，我们坐的桌子不稳，还得靠一位上了年纪的服务生老爷爷帮忙垫了纸才稳住。总的来说，这顿饭吃得心情复杂。作为游客，打卡百年老店算是完成了一个心愿；但作为食客，无论是菜品的新鲜度还是用餐的细节，都只能用“一般般”来形容。如果想体验历史氛围可以一试，但若追求食材本味和精细烹饪，恐怕会有落差。

Hemos comido allí porque lo recomiendan todas las guías. El sitio está bien, se entienden en español ( en el comedor casi todos lo éramos). El servicio muy bueno, el camarero muy amable y paciente con los que no sabemos ni papa de idiomas. La comida buena y abundante, ya el gusto es personal y nosotros estamos acostumbrados a otros sabores y recetas. Pedimos los moules en la fórmula León, más que suficiente, vienen con patatas y una copa pequeña de cerveza. Pedí las croquettes crevettes de 3 piezas, salen caras, pero no están mal, insisto que no estamos acostumbrados a este tipo de comida, viene con patatas y ensalada, y pedimos moules friture, que van bien de cantidad y de precio. Éramos dos adultos y dos niños. No le doy 5 estrellas porque el menú infantil se supone que no te lo cobran si consumes y a nosotros nos lo han cobrado (9,50). Por lo demás lo que nos esperábamos. Por último recomiendo no hacer caso de las reseñas malas y no condicionarse, es mejor probar las cosas.

I just saw that it’s very popular, so I tried the first thing resembling the thing I’m searching for. I tried the fries, it was…so blend… and the fries were have no sauce. it’s kind of my fault because I didn’t understand all the different kind of mousells and I ordered. The beer is excellent though.If I go there next time, I will order a garlic one.I saw some comments saying that the server would just talk to other desks, but not the certain group of people, but I think it’s just the habits of talking to familiar faces he knew.Well, I’m coming those kind of early, so there were no lines.I would give it a four star because the menu wasn’t clear enough(both original and translated version) and that I had no sauce, not even the cheap one with fries so I hate to eat it solely.

The food is delicious. I reserved the seat from Google map one day earlier for lunch, was assigned to a seat which is very inner part of a section, no AC super hot. It was noon and plenty of seats with good air circulation available, no many walk in guests. My daughter noticed our room was assigned all Asian guests, that is really sensitive. The Japanese client who seats next to my table was sweating. I should have asked to change seat. It is like a punishment to clients who booked seats in advance. I don’t like it..

Éramos dos adultos y dos niños. No le doy 5 estrellas porque el menú infantil se supone que no te lo cobran si consumes y a nosotros nos lo han cobrado (9,50). Por lo demás lo que nos esperábamos. Por último recomiendo no hacer caso de las reseñas malas y no condicionarse, es mejor probar las cosas.

I just saw that it’s very popular, so I tried the first thing resembling the thing I’m searching for. I tried the fries, it was…so blend… and the fries were have no sauce. it’s kind of my fault because I didn’t understand all the different kind of mousells and I ordered. The beer is excellent though.If I go there next time, I will order a garlic one.I saw some comments saying that the server would just talk to other desks, but not the certain group of people, but I think it’s just the habits of talking to familiar faces he knew.Well, I’m coming those kind of early, so there were no lines.I would give it a four star because the menu wasn’t clear enough(both original and translated version) and that I had no sauce, not even the cheap one with fries so I hate to eat it solely.

The food is delicious. I reserved the seat from Google map one day earlier for lunch, was assigned to a seat which is very inner part of a section, no AC super hot. It was noon and plenty of seats with good air circulation available, no many walk in guests. My daughter noticed our room was assigned all Asian guests, that is really sensitive. The Japanese client who seats next to my table was sweating. I should have asked to change seat. It is like a punishment to clients who booked seats in advance. I don’t like it..

Ho cenato in questo ristorante che fin da subito è risultato accogliente.Il personale gentile, disponibile e veloce, il cameriere che ci ha servito si è dimostrato molto disponibile alle nostre richieste e non ci ha fatto attendere.Lo consigliere soprattutto per il cibo e l’atmosfera.è un locale molto grande quindi è semplice trovare posto anche nel weekend.
