Jean-Michel Folon
Jean-Michel Folon 1934-2005), was a Belgian watercolourist, painter, engraver and sculptor.
During a friendly lunch with Rudy Vanlancker at “110”, he offered to draw the invitation to the opening of the first “Léon de Bruxelles” restaurant in Paris.
It includes all the Belgian standards (Belgian flag, speculoos, potatoes), as well as an Eiffel Tower on its way to Paris.

You gotta try the mussels and frites here, seriously, just order them without even looking at the menu! If you think that's not enough, just grab some frites and waffles as a snack between lunch and dinner. I'd suggest having a light dinner here and then heading out to enjoy some more Belgian beers in the city. The staff are totally used to tourists and they've got multilingual menus, so you won't have any trouble at all.

To be honest, the food was good. I had mussels with curry, a waffle, and a beer for €62.However, as the dining room started to empty, I noticed mice (or small rats) running around. I mentioned this to the manager, who told me that nothing could be done since the doors are open, although regular pest control is supposedly carried out.In terms of hygiene, there is clearly room for improvement.

J’ai ADORÉ! Personnellement, je ne suis pas fan des moules. Mais c’était exquis! Des huîtres, au murailles qui décorent le restaurant et leurs hommages au schtroumpfs, cette endroit est un petit musée belge en lui même! Sans oublier que nos serveurs on était tellement chaleureux et amicale! (Honorable mention à Sébastien et Larsen qui on était si gentille!) J‘espère pouvoir revenir bientôt :)

Our first stop for food in Brussels. We were very happy with the food. Service was very efficient. Dishes were pretty tasty. We had lasgna, french onion soup, amongst other dishes. We would definitely recommend to others

While Chez Leon is in a touristy part of town, it doesn't fall into the 'trap' category of restaurants.Just had some fantastic mussels, ably assisted by my server Jules. Service was punctual and able to deal with my pigeon French, friendly and extremely efficient. The rest of the menu was full of extremely tempting classic Belgian fare. Could do some damage to my wallet in here!While waiting for my food I had a good chance to look at my surroundings, a mixture of old charm and kooky and kitsch extras (there's a massive smurf statue in there)Bill came to 35 euros, for a humongous pot of moules mariniere, frites and a glass of pretty darn decent house white.Overall, had a great time. Highly recommend.

홍합찜, 샐러드 먹었어요. 홍합찜은 꼭 드세요. 벨기에에서 감자튀김을 너무 많이 먹어서 샐러드를 주문했는데 현명한 선택이었습니다. 근데 메뉴에 같이 주는 감자튀김이 맛있어서 세 끼 연속으로 감튀 먹는 사람 됐네요… 이 식당 가실거면 가시기 전에는 감튀 사먹진 마세요. 식당에서 기본적으로 주는 것도 맛있습니다. 분위기가 한국인 친화적입니다. 벨기에 여행온 한국인, 일본인은 여기 다 모이는 느낌인데, 그럴만도 한게 입맛에 맞습니다. 옆 테이블의 유럽분들은 그라탕홍합과 파스타 드시던데 다음에 먹어보고 싶네요. 유쾌한 직원분들 덕분에 좋은 추억 남겼습니다.

최고였어요!! 현지 분위기도 엄청 잘 나고, 약간 가족식당같은 느낌이에요.음식은 완벽합니다!! 홍합 그라탕, 홍합탕, 피시엔칩스, 소시지랑 베이컨 있는 메뉴랑 맥주 2종류까지 골고루 시켜서 셰어했는데 어느 하나 아쉬운 메뉴는 없었어요.다만 브뤼셀 대부분이 그렇듯 프랑스어와 네덜란드어 메뉴판뿐이고, 영어도 적혀있지 않습니다.. 당황하지 마시고, 메뉴판 또는 식탁보에 있는 큐알코드 찍으시면 돼요..!! 웨이터분들은 모두 영어 유창하십니다!웨이터분도 엄청 유쾌하시고, 특히 한국인이라고 하니까 i love Korea 배지를 보여주시면서 재미있게 말 걸어 주셨습니다ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ아기, 강아지도 맘껏 출입할 수 있고 특징적인 약간의 소란도 다 허용되는 분위기입니다. 동시에 고급지고 조용조용한 분위기를 선호하시는 분은 살짝 뒤로가기... 그러나 저는 오히려 활기차고 화목한 공동체 느낌 속에서의 식사라 아주 즐거웠어요..!완전히 저녁시간은 아주 붐비는 편이라, 점심시간과 저녁시간 사이에 이른 저녁을 먹으러 찾아갔고, 웨이팅도 없었습니다! 저는 시키지 않았지만, 런치세트도 오후 5시까지 주문 가능하니 참고하세요..!

J’ai mangé chez Léon à Bruxelles et je tenais vraiment à laisser un commentaire pour souligner l’excellent service de Yamal.C’est un serveur d’un grand professionnalisme : attentif, organisé, efficace et toujours souriant. Mais au-delà de ça, sa gentillesse et son attitude bienveillante font toute la différence.Il met à l’aise, prend le temps avec les clients et donne vraiment envie de revenir.Un service de grande qualité, comme on aimerait en voir plus souvent.Merci beaucoup Yamal pour cette très belle expérience.

It was my first time visiting this place and it was absolutely amazing! Food came in big portions and tasted really good as well.What impressed me most is the way they decorated their place. Atienden rápido. Las mesas están muy juntas para mí gusto, casi comes con los que tengas al lado, pero el sitio es curioso y la comida está bien si lo que buscas es más variedad de platos. Çok güzel ve lezzetli bir yerdi. Dışarıdan göründüğünden daha büyük ve içerisi baya kalabalık. Rezervasyon yaptırmazsın sırada bekler ya da geri cevrilirsiniz. Tek sorun çalışanların hepsi Fransızca konuşuyor ve resmen İngilizce konuşmayı reddediyorlar. Ama bir şekilde anlaşıyorsunuz. Kesinlikle tavsiye ederim.

It is very old fashioned amd nice place. But I will not say the same for food and service. We ordered mussels and spaghetti. There is no any special taste unfortunately especially spaghetti is very bad experience. But mussels was good.Beside this, service was not good. It was delayed and the waiter was so nervous. Just as, he wants us to go out fastly and receipt bill without request :)Prices are not cheap and you can find better alternatives around.

ムール貝料理全て美味しいですが、蒸し料理が好みです。普通のと白ワイン蒸しどちらとも貝の出汁が出ていて美味しかったです。

Very nice food but poor service. Had to wait a considerable amount of time for our order to be taken, while tables that arrived after us had their order taken before us. One of our parties meal arrived later than the rest of the parties.

While Chez Leon is in a touristy part of town, it doesn't fall into the 'trap' category of restaurants.Just had some fantastic mussels, ably assisted by my server Jules. Service was punctual and able to deal with my pigeon French, friendly and extremely efficient. The rest of the menu was full of extremely tempting classic Belgian fare. Could do some damage to my wallet in here!While waiting for my food I had a good chance to look at my surroundings, a mixture of old charm and kooky and kitsch extras (there's a massive smurf statue in there)Bill came to 35 euros, for a humongous pot of moules mariniere, frites and a glass of pretty darn decent house white.Overall, had a great time. Highly recommend.

Mi è sembrata "una catena di montaggio" ed anche molto cara..... il classico ristorante turistico. Cameriri molto molto disponibili ma non credo ci tornerei e non posso consigliarlo.....

홍합찜, 샐러드 먹었어요. 홍합찜은 꼭 드세요. 벨기에에서 감자튀김을 너무 많이 먹어서 샐러드를 주문했는데 현명한 선택이었습니다. 근데 메뉴에 같이 주는 감자튀김이 맛있어서 세 끼 연속으로 감튀 먹는 사람 됐네요… 이 식당 가실거면 가시기 전에는 감튀 사먹진 마세요. 식당에서 기본적으로 주는 것도 맛있습니다. 분위기가 한국인 친화적입니다. 벨기에 여행온 한국인, 일본인은 여기 다 모이는 느낌인데, 그럴만도 한게 입맛에 맞습니다. 옆 테이블의 유럽분들은 그라탕홍합과 파스타 드시던데 다음에 먹어보고 싶네요. 유쾌한 직원분들 덕분에 좋은 추억 남겼습니다.

Cuisine bonne mais quantité de moules dans le menu un peu juste.Service très lent, il a fallut relancer de multiples fois. Avec un enfant de 4 ans, pas génial…

Lekker gegeten hier. Uiensoep, "stoemp" met worst en chocolade toetje voor €23.--. Helemaal prima. Chez Leon is gewoon een must als je in Brussel bent

최고였어요!! 현지 분위기도 엄청 잘 나고, 약간 가족식당같은 느낌이에요.음식은 완벽합니다!! 홍합 그라탕, 홍합탕, 피시엔칩스, 소시지랑 베이컨 있는 메뉴랑 맥주 2종류까지 골고루 시켜서 셰어했는데 어느 하나 아쉬운 메뉴는 없었어요.다만 브뤼셀 대부분이 그렇듯 프랑스어와 네덜란드어 메뉴판뿐이고, 영어도 적혀있지 않습니다.. 당황하지 마시고, 메뉴판 또는 식탁보에 있는 큐알코드 찍으시면 돼요..!! 웨이터분들은 모두 영어 유창하십니다!웨이터분도 엄청 유쾌하시고, 특히 한국인이라고 하니까 i love Korea 배지를 보여주시면서 재미있게 말 걸어 주셨습니다ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ아기, 강아지도 맘껏 출입할 수 있고 특징적인 약간의 소란도 다 허용되는 분위기입니다. 동시에 고급지고 조용조용한 분위기를 선호하시는 분은 살짝 뒤로가기... 그러나 저는 오히려 활기차고 화목한 공동체 느낌 속에서의 식사라 아주 즐거웠어요..!완전히 저녁시간은 아주 붐비는 편이라, 점심시간과 저녁시간 사이에 이른 저녁을 먹으러 찾아갔고, 웨이팅도 없었습니다! 저는 시키지 않았지만, 런치세트도 오후 5시까지 주문 가능하니 참고하세요..!

J’ai mangé chez Léon à Bruxelles et je tenais vraiment à laisser un commentaire pour souligner l’excellent service de Yamal.C’est un serveur d’un grand professionnalisme : attentif, organisé, efficace et toujours souriant. Mais au-delà de ça, sa gentillesse et son attitude bienveillante font toute la différence.Il met à l’aise, prend le temps avec les clients et donne vraiment envie de revenir.Un service de grande qualité, comme on aimerait en voir plus souvent.Merci beaucoup Yamal pour cette très belle expérience.

It was my first time visiting this place and it was absolutely amazing! Food came in big portions and tasted really good as well.What impressed me most is the way they decorated their place. Every corner is perfectly photogenic which describes well about Brussel.Really nice to have lunch here. Of course I will definitely come back again :)

Dining here isn’t just about the food; it’s part of the Brussels experience.Highly recommend the Moules marinières — cooked with white wine and garlic, the mussels were fresh, flavorful, and perfectly balanced. Paired with crispy Belgian fries, it’s the ultimate classic combination.The Soupe de poisson was rich and comforting, and a glass of Leffe Blonde completed the meal beautifully.Friendly service, efficient staff, and authentic Belgian flavors. If you’re visiting Brussels, this place absolutely deserves a stop.

Nos gustó mucho! Queríamos probar platos típicos de Bruselas y fue un muy buen lugar. Comimos los mejillones gratinados y la carbonade flamande con arroz, excelentes!! Hicimos reserva y estuvo bien porque había una larga fila para entrar. Buen servicio y lindo lugar! Volveremos!

Atienden rápido. Las mesas están muy juntas para mí gusto, casi comes con los que tengas al lado, pero el sitio es curioso y la comida está bien si lo que buscas es más variedad de platos. Nos sorprendieron mucho los mejillones con queso! Tienen muchos tipos de platos de mejillones. Eché de menos el aceite para la ensalada, pero...allí donde fueres...😂 Precio correcto!

淡菜新鮮，但沒有這麼大顆，算好吃，義大利麵麵條太軟爛完全不行，薯條有麥當勞味道，服務完全沒有熱情，最後結帳還問我們要不要給小費。

Çok güzel ve lezzetli bir yerdi. Dışarıdan göründüğünden daha büyük ve içerisi baya kalabalık. Rezervasyon yaptırmazsın sırada bekler ya da geri cevrilirsiniz. Tek sorun çalışanların hepsi Fransızca konuşuyor ve resmen İngilizce konuşmayı reddediyorlar. Ama bir şekilde anlaşıyorsunuz. Kesinlikle tavsiye ederim.

It is very old fashioned amd nice place. But I will not say the same for food and service. We ordered mussels and spaghetti. There is no any special taste unfortunately especially spaghetti is very bad experience. But mussels was good.Beside this, service was not good. It was delayed and the waiter was so nervous. Just as, he wants us to go out fastly and receipt bill without request :)Prices are not cheap and you can find better alternatives around.
