Jean-Michel Folon
Jean-Michel Folon 1934-2005), was a Belgian watercolourist, painter, engraver and sculptor.
During a friendly lunch with Rudy Vanlancker at “110”, he offered to draw the invitation to the opening of the first “Léon de Bruxelles” restaurant in Paris.
It includes all the Belgian standards (Belgian flag, speculoos, potatoes), as well as an Eiffel Tower on its way to Paris.

Iconic restaurant for mussels in Brussels so we came to this restaurant. It's a good thing we booked as it gets quite busy at peak meal times, although it is fairly big inside with seating over 2 floors.As it is a popular restaurant, the tables are very close to each other but the service was fairly good and quick.We ordered the garlic & cheese mussels gratin which comes with fries and the mix seafood spaghetti. They were both delicious. The mussels were buttery and the spaghetti was creamy with good flavour. The food came surprisingly fast as well.I only knocked 1 star as they served complimentary bread to all tables around us but for some reason, they didn't give us any. Which we found a little disappointing as it would've been nice to scoop up the remaining garlic butter from the mussels and the cream sauce from the pasta with some bread.Apart from that, all in all a good experience.

The food here tastes great! The mussels in garlic butter and herbs blew me away, and I enjoyed dipping the fries in the leftover oil. I would say that the service could be improved. I agree with some of the other reviewers regarding the rude staff.

Midye yemeden dönmeyelim diye girdik.. Önerenler olmuştu sosyal medya ünlülerinden. Tencerede sebzeli sulu bir Midye geldi. Şimdiden söyleyim Midye dolma gibisi yok. Çocuklar çocuk menüsü aldı. Spagetti bolognese ve tatlı. Fiyat uyguna geldi. Ama herşey iyi de garsonların bir kısmı oldukça kaba. Özellikle kadın olan.. Yani gelmeseniz bir şey kaybetmezsiniz..

Uno dei locali più noti e più turistici del centro storico di Bruxelles. Ci siamo andati due volte in una settimana e, in entrambi i casi, siamo rimasti un po' delusi. Il locale è molto ampio e c'è sempre posto (e ciò è sicuramente positivo). Si dovrebbe però prestare un po' più di attenzione al menu...Se si scrive "chicon gratiné", si dovrebbe anche specificare che l'indivia non è semplicemente gratinata ma viene avvolta nel prosciutto e servita ricoperta di besciamella o panna...E se una persona è allergica al lattosio? Per quel che riguarda i piatti, io ho preso il pesce che però è arrivato bruciacchiato. Il servizio è comunque veloce e i camerieri socievoli.

Brussels滞在中に2度訪問しました。外観の雰囲気が良さそうだったので、訪問。店内はお客さんが多く人気のお店だと感じました。店員さんもフレンドリーで好印象。ムール貝の定番料理を食べたくて、ムール・マリニエール(白ワイン蒸し)を頼みました。お店のおすすめセットということで、ビールとポテトが付いて約20ユーロ。日本人としては注文しやすい価格帯だと思います。白ワインで蒸されたムール貝はアサリよりも貝の風味が強くなった味、セロリの香りも感じられて美味しかったです。ただ、貝類が得意ではない人や香りの強い野菜が苦手という人にはおすすめできません。別で注文したガーリックとチーズがトッピングされたムール貝プレートはクセが少なくとても美味しかったです(プレートのみで約20ユーロ)。個人的には酒蒸しよりもチーズ＆ガーリックがおすすめです！ビールはもちろん美味しい！スモールサイズでも十分飲みごたえがあるので、是非お試し下さい！

An unpleasant experience. The staff dgaf about me. Never checked in. Never bring me water. His face is giving that I owe him my life. The food was mid, mildly seasoned. Staff was so busy that u can’t get hold of them at all so basically no service.

You gotta try the mussels and frites here, seriously, just order them without even looking at the menu! If you think that's not enough, just grab some frites and waffles as a snack between lunch and dinner. I'd suggest having a light dinner here and then heading out to enjoy some more Belgian beers in the city. The staff are totally used to tourists and they've got multilingual menus, so you won't have any trouble at all.

To be honest, the food was good. I had mussels with curry, a waffle, and a beer for €62.However, as the dining room started to empty, I noticed mice (or small rats) running around. I mentioned this to the manager, who told me that nothing could be done since the doors are open, although regular pest control is supposedly carried out.In terms of hygiene, there is clearly room for improvement.

Perfect experience!We were welcomed immediately at the door and the interior is peculiar and curated. Original furnishings with a different vibe from the ground and first floor where you can feel the care in the choices.A special thank you to Ahmed who was very attentive to the needs of the guests, knowledgeable and kind in our requests even in a different language - he made the lunch better even if the other server was a bit more carelessThe food was very good, high quality/price ratio and good portions. We got the lunch menu and were satisfied but you can also find a huge seafood selection which I recommend.A must stop if you visit this city!PET FRIENDLY

An unpleasant experience. The staff dgaf about me. Never checked in. Never bring me water. His face is giving that I owe him my life. The food was mid, mildly seasoned. Staff was so busy that u can’t get hold of them at all so basically no service.

Une institution à Bruxelles. Très bon restaurant si vous aimez les moules, croquettes aux crevettes et autres délices. Les tables sont quand mêmes forts serrées les unes aux autres, ce n'est pas un restaurant où je resterais des heures.

An English message will follow the Italian one.Magnifico ristorante, aperto dal 1893. Le loro cozze sono deliziose e il personale è gentile e professionale.Lo raccomanderei per ogni tappa a Bruxelles.Wonderful restaurant which is open since 1893. Their mussels are delicious and the personnel is outstanding. Very recommended.

Dans le genre c'est la référence.....L'établissement de Bruxelles est impressionnant et on se sent très bien dans ce cadre avec le petit bémol du bruit...mais c'est la contrepartie du succès.On reviendra 🤗

You gotta try the mussels and frites here, seriously, just order them without even looking at the menu! If you think that's not enough, just grab some frites and waffles as a snack between lunch and dinner. I'd suggest having a light dinner here and then heading out to enjoy some more Belgian beers in the city. The staff are totally used to tourists and they've got multilingual menus, so you won't have any trouble at all.

To be honest, the food was good. I had mussels with curry, a waffle, and a beer for €62.However, as the dining room started to empty, I noticed mice (or small rats) running around. I mentioned this to the manager, who told me that nothing could be done since the doors are open, although regular pest control is supposedly carried out.In terms of hygiene, there is clearly room for improvement.
