Jean-Michel Folon
Jean-Michel Folon 1934-2005), was a Belgian watercolourist, painter, engraver and sculptor.
During a friendly lunch with Rudy Vanlancker at “110”, he offered to draw the invitation to the opening of the first “Léon de Bruxelles” restaurant in Paris.
It includes all the Belgian standards (Belgian flag, speculoos, potatoes), as well as an Eiffel Tower on its way to Paris.

I don't know what happened with people having bad experiences here. But I came on a Monday evening, the restaurant was crowded but I had a seat right after I entered. They served really quick. The staff was so kind and he spoke English to me really comfortable.

Chez Léon, on sent immédiatement que le restaurant est une véritable machine bien rodée: le service est efficace et tout est parfaitement organisé. Mais contrairement à ce que cela pourrait laisser penser, il n’y a rien d’impersonnel ici. Au contraire, le personnel se distingue par son amabilité, sa gentillesse et sa patience, ce qui rend l’expérience particulièrement agréable.L’américain préparé était tout simplement délicieu: une vraie référence, au point d’impressionner mon ami tchèque qui le découvrait pour la première fois.Oui, c’est un endroit touristique, mais c’est justement le genre de lieu dont on peut être fier. J’étais ravi d’y emmener un ami étranger pour lui faire découvrir des plats typiquement belges, dans une ambiance conviviale, avec un service poli et attentionné.

홍합탕과 홍합 그라탕을 먹었습니다. 정말 맛있고 직원들도 굉장히 친절한 레스토랑입니다. 쳇 지피티에 검색해보니 결과 여기가 가장 가성비 이더라구요 시네에서는. 둘이서 홍합탕과 그라탕 시켜서 43 유로 쯤 나왔습니다. 강추 드립니다.

A pesar de entrar con pocas expectativas por ser un lugar demasiado turistico, nos ha sorprendido tanto el servicio como la comida. Muchas especiales belgas y no bñrgas. Aptos para todo tipo de comensales. Precio medio alto, se encuentra en el centro y es una buena opcion si quieres cenar en horarios tardios puesto que no rige por la costumbre belga de cenar temprano. De hecho asi evitareis colas. Destacable los mejillones gratinados, sorprendentemente ricos y bien presentados.

Despite being quite a touristy spot, the food here tastes great. We came during lunch hours and lucky enough to get a table right away. Our server explained each dishes we asked in detail and were so attentive.We tried the spaghetti Leon, the original marinated mussels and the butter one with herbs. Everything was in huge portions and quite delicious.Plus, they have a couple cute spots inside the restaurant perfect for photos 🫶

Lucky i made reservation in prior, because it was pretty packed even during lunch time. The front man (which i assumed is one of the high rank staffs or even the owner) was really nice. He greeted me and my wife so nicely and swifly directed us to the guy who in charge in seating areas.The service was pretty fast, so we were not waiting for long time for the food we ordered.We ordered their signature mussels inside the pan, and the other one with cheese and garlic on top (i forgot the name.) Both of dishes came with small bucket of fries. They were all tasted good and served fresh.I’ve read a lot of complaints regarding the behaviour of the staffs in this establishment in Google. As for me, some of them were really nice, and very a few yes i must admit were quite rude by giving me unpleasant treatment.But fortunately, the good experience can really overshadow the negative ones. Though i really hope, one day they all will thoroughly be nice to any customers.Keep up the good works, fellas.

店員さんがみんなフレンドリーで、目が合うたびに笑いかけてくれるなど、1人で来ても寂しく感じさせないアットホームなレストランでした。フランス語で話そうと努力すると、喜んでくれるのが嬉しかったです。料理は街のカジュアルレストランって感じのクオリティで、絶品とまでは言わないけれど、文句なしの味でした。注文から料理の提供、会計までスムーズで、良かったです。ブリュッセルに行く時にはまた立ち寄ります。

Restaurante con comida típica belga destacando los moules ( mejillones) que los sirven de diferentes maneras. Pedimos unos al vapor y otros rebozados para compartir y luego nos decidimos por un menú ( lunch du jour) por 23€ por persona, bebida aparte, que incluye un entrante, un segundo plato y postre, todos venin con patatas fritas. Nada que destacar de la comida del menú, raciones aceptables. Tuvimos un pequeño problemilla cuando pedimos la cuenta ya que el camarero nos indico que con los moules incluían patatas fritas y una cerveza. Al principio nos cobró las dos cervezas que supuestamente venían incluidas con los platos, se lo comentamos y rectifico la cuenta, pero cuando nos trajo la segunda cuenta seguían cobrandonos una de las dos cervezas, se lo volvimos a indicar y parece que se molestó. Al final nos quito de la cuenta las dos cervezas.El restaurante tiene la zona de comedor muy amplia con dos plantas y ambiente muy acogedor.

또먹고싶어서 토할 것 같아요🥹💗진짜 너무너무 맛있어요 홍합 좋아하는 사람이라면 안 좋아할 수가 없음찜도 맛있지만 마늘치즈그라탕이 진짜 제대로임한국인이라면 모두가 좋아할 맛.근데 주문, 결제때 한참을 기다려도 안와서 그건 좀 속상했어요그와 별개로 내부도 넓고 분위기 좋고 맛이 최상이라 추천함다!

Restaurante en lo más turístico de Bruselas, la decoración es curiosa como lugar histórico. La comida está bien sin alardes aunque las raciones muy escasas para el precio que tiene. Recomiendo probar los caracoles.

Indubbiamente si mangia molto bene, anche se i prezzi sono un pochino elevati, anche perché i piatti forti sono a base di pesce. Il locale, essendo molto frequentato, è affollato e quindi un po' caotico. È comunque un ristorante storico e molto caratteristico. Da provare!

I was on the hunt for the best classic moules-frites in Brussels and decided go with the Chez Léon, one of the most famous and traditional places for it. The food was really good — tasty, fresh and filling.I chose the set with fries, mussels, and beer, and I loved that there were non-alcoholic options as well. Very delicious overall, though it was quite busy.My only small issues: the seating wasn’t ideal since I was alone and had to sit by the bar, and the staff who served me weren’t very friendly.

Place for tourist . I had hope, becouse read review but it was a mistake. All classic typical food for what people came there not yummy muscles with cheese was good, and that’s it.Classic muscles was almost without taste, fried potatoes sauce without salt, not cooking enough. Manager is not friendly.My suggest don’t go and don’t spend money for this place.

Bonjour à Tous,Parisien de passage à Bruxelles le week-end dernier en Famille et quelques autres proches, c'était la 4ème fois que l'on se rendait dans ce Léon en 2 ans. Tout y est super Bon, sympa et le décor m'a toujours fait penser à l'ambiance des saloons qu'ils y avaient autrefois dans les films westerns de l'époque. En général, c'était la Jeune Mélissa qui s'occupait de nous mais cette fois-ci, ce fut Anouar qui a fait le boulot. Lui seul... Et BIEN comme il faut, s'il vous plaît... Anouar a été Top de chez Top, il nous a mis à l'aise dès notre arrivée jusqu'à la fin. Il a été à l'écoute, nous a même conseillé certaines choses qu'on ignorait et s'est occupé de nous comme de sa propre Famille. Donc du coup, nous nous sommes immédiatement senti comme chez nous à la maison. Ah oui, lès Prix sont vachement intéressants et abordables par TOUS.. Personnellement, je trouve que Anouar a absolument toute sa place dans la Famille Léon et nous espérons que ce sera encore Lui qui nous accueillera lors de notre prochain passage à Bruxelles..Je vous recommande ce Léon les yeux fermés car il en vaut vachement le détour, croyez-moi. Je dirais même que c'est presqu'une obligation (autant que le Manneken Pis 😜) d'y faire un tour pour le découvrir. Et un seul et ultime conseil: demandez Anouar dès votre arrivée et vous serez comblé autant que nous le fûmes...Merci beaucoup à Tous ceux qui prendront le soin de lire cet avis jusqu'au bout et qui s'y rendront..🙏🤲❤

If you want to try mussels, this is the place to go. Great selection and classic Belgian experience. I also tried the horse steak, something different and definitely worth it.It’s a very popular and touristy spot, but still a must-visit in Brussels. I highly recommend making a reservation in advance.

Visited on a Sunday around 2pm as a walk‑in.I was lucky to get a seat, as people kept coming in and it stayed busy. The atmosphere felt a little fancy, and the service was quick and friendly. The mussels were really good, definitely recommended.

不懂因為我是女生，還是亞洲人的關係，我這區的服務生，感覺有點歧視，其它店員倒是很有禮貌淡菜套餐一個女生吃好撐，而且無法打包，說會危險...飲料說沒杯子裝...最後只有打包薯條而已說要打包N次，這區的服務生都沒下文；和其它路過的服務生說，很快就拿來餐盒套餐不喝啤酒，換了其它飲料

用餐時間非常繁忙，建議預訂！店內環境很有歐式風情，看得出來經營已久，是當地名店。淡菜鍋很香甜，雖然淡菜不大，但肉質吃起來可以，沒有不新鮮的料。兩個人吃一鍋配著隨附的薯條竟然也會飽。另外點的一份燉牛肉味道倒是普通。我們是我們用餐的那區唯一的亞洲客人，我們觀察到其他桌都有獲得餐前麵包，我們這桌卻沒有。不過我們菜上的是這區最快的，就沒有跟店家反應了。非常建議預訂，否則就要在離峰時間用餐。我們用完餐後出來店門大排長龍。

Pedimos unos al vapor y otros rebozados para compartir y luego nos decidimos por un menú ( lunch du jour) por 23€ por persona, bebida aparte, que incluye un entrante, un segundo plato y postre, todos venin con patatas fritas. Nada que destacar de la comida del menú, raciones aceptables. Tuvimos un pequeño problemilla cuando pedimos la cuenta ya que el camarero nos indico que con los moules incluían patatas fritas y una cerveza. Al principio nos cobró las dos cervezas que supuestamente venían incluidas con los platos, se lo comentamos y rectifico la cuenta, pero cuando nos trajo la segunda cuenta seguían cobrandonos una de las dos cervezas, se lo volvimos a indicar y parece que se molestó. Al final nos quito de la cuenta las dos cervezas.El restaurante tiene la zona de comedor muy amplia con dos plantas y ambiente muy acogedor.

또먹고싶어서 토할 것 같아요🥹💗진짜 너무너무 맛있어요 홍합 좋아하는 사람이라면 안 좋아할 수가 없음찜도 맛있지만 마늘치즈그라탕이 진짜 제대로임한국인이라면 모두가 좋아할 맛.근데 주문, 결제때 한참을 기다려도 안와서 그건 좀 속상했어요그와 별개로 내부도 넓고 분위기 좋고 맛이 최상이라 추천함다!

Restaurante en lo más turístico de Bruselas, la decoración es curiosa como lugar histórico. La comida está bien sin alardes aunque las raciones muy escasas para el precio que tiene. Recomiendo probar los caracoles.

ブリュッセルで食事するならここで間違いないです。ムール貝のグラタンが一番美味。従業員の数も多く、素早くフレンドリーな接客をしてくれます。人気店ですが12時に行っても日によっては並ばずに入れます。

Indubbiamente si mangia molto bene, anche se i prezzi sono un pochino elevati, anche perché i piatti forti sono a base di pesce. Il locale, essendo molto frequentato, è affollato e quindi un po' caotico. È comunque un ristorante storico e molto caratteristico. Da provare!

I was on the hunt for the best classic moules-frites in Brussels and decided go with the Chez Léon, one of the most famous and traditional places for it. The food was really good — tasty, fresh and filling.I chose the set with fries, mussels, and beer, and I loved that there were non-alcoholic options as well. Very delicious overall, though it was quite busy.My only small issues: the seating wasn’t ideal since I was alone and had to sit by the bar, and the staff who served me weren’t very friendly.

Place for tourist . I had hope, becouse read review but it was a mistake. All classic typical food for what people came there not yummy muscles with cheese was good, and that’s it.Classic muscles was almost without taste, fried potatoes sauce without salt, not cooking enough. Manager is not friendly.My suggest don’t go and don’t spend money for this place.

Bonjour à Tous,Parisien de passage à Bruxelles le week-end dernier en Famille et quelques autres proches, c'était la 4ème fois que l'on se rendait dans ce Léon en 2 ans. Tout y est super Bon, sympa et le décor m'a toujours fait penser à l'ambiance des saloons qu'ils y avaient autrefois dans les films westerns de l'époque. En général, c'était la Jeune Mélissa qui s'occupait de nous mais cette fois-ci, ce fut Anouar qui a fait le boulot. Lui seul... Et BIEN comme il faut, s'il vous plaît... Anouar a été Top de chez Top, il nous a mis à l'aise dès notre arrivée jusqu'à la fin. Il a été à l'écoute, nous a même conseillé certaines choses qu'on ignorait et s'est occupé de nous comme de sa propre Famille. Donc du coup, nous nous sommes immédiatement senti comme chez nous à la maison. Ah oui, lès Prix sont vachement intéressants et abordables par TOUS.. Personnellement, je trouve que Anouar a absolument toute sa place dans la Famille Léon et nous espérons que ce sera encore Lui qui nous accueillera lors de notre prochain passage à Bruxelles..Je vous recommande ce Léon les yeux fermés car il en vaut vachement le détour, croyez-moi. Je dirais même que c'est presqu'une obligation (autant que le Manneken Pis 😜) d'y faire un tour pour le découvrir. Et un seul et ultime conseil: demandez Anouar dès votre arrivée et vous serez comblé autant que nous le fûmes...Merci beaucoup à Tous ceux qui prendront le soin de lire cet avis jusqu'au bout et qui s'y rendront..🙏🤲❤

If you want to try mussels, this is the place to go. Great selection and classic Belgian experience. I also tried the horse steak, something different and definitely worth it.It’s a very popular and touristy spot, but still a must-visit in Brussels. I highly recommend making a reservation in advance.

Visited on a Sunday around 2pm as a walk‑in.I was lucky to get a seat, as people kept coming in and it stayed busy. The atmosphere felt a little fancy, and the service was quick and friendly. The mussels were really good, definitely recommended.

不懂因為我是女生，還是亞洲人的關係，我這區的服務生，感覺有點歧視，其它店員倒是很有禮貌淡菜套餐一個女生吃好撐，而且無法打包，說會危險...飲料說沒杯子裝...最後只有打包薯條而已說要打包N次，這區的服務生都沒下文；和其它路過的服務生說，很快就拿來餐盒套餐不喝啤酒，換了其它飲料

Un restaurante espectacular, desde la decoración hasta la comida pasando por los camareros que son muy simpáticos y agradables, una comida típica belga con carácter y estilo, un buen sitio para disfrutar en familia o en pareja. Los mejillones con ajo y queso gratinado son una auténtica maravilla.

とても美味しかったですが、アジア人の女性の店員さんがあまり態度が良くなかった。他の店員さんは感じ良かったです。アジア人観光客たくさんいました！バケツいっぱいのムール貝が食べれてポテトもついてきます！値段はそこまで高くないので良いと思います！

用餐時間非常繁忙，建議預訂！店內環境很有歐式風情，看得出來經營已久，是當地名店。淡菜鍋很香甜，雖然淡菜不大，但肉質吃起來可以，沒有不新鮮的料。兩個人吃一鍋配著隨附的薯條竟然也會飽。另外點的一份燉牛肉味道倒是普通。我們是我們用餐的那區唯一的亞洲客人，我們觀察到其他桌都有獲得餐前麵包，我們這桌卻沒有。不過我們菜上的是這區最快的，就沒有跟店家反應了。非常建議預訂，否則就要在離峰時間用餐。我們用完餐後出來店門大排長龍。
