Belgian comics form a distinct subgroup in the history of European comics and played a major role in their development, alongside their French counterparts, with which they share a long common history.

While the comics in the two main languages of Belgium (Dutch, spoken in Flanders, and French, spoken in Wallonia) each have clearly distinct characteristics, they are constantly influencing each other, and meet in bilingual Brussels thanks to the major publishing houses’ tradition of publishing in both languages. As one of the arts in which Belgium has had an international and enduring impact in the 20th century, comics are considered there to be “an integral part of Belgian culture”.

At “Chez Léon”, we decided to pay tribute to our childhood favourites, or at any rate to the most iconic albums of Belgian comic culture, such as Largo Winch, Agent 212, Spirou, Boule and Bill, Lucky Luke, Thorgal, Léonard …

Comimos aquí el mismo día que llegamos a Bruselas y la experiencia fue más que agradable. El ambiente era justo el que buscábamos para un grupo amplio, en pleno centro de la ciudad y con las características de la cocina Belga. Probamos algunos de los platos típicos como los mejillones y la carne en salsa, además de algo de pescado frito. Además, por supuesto, de unas buenas cervezas. Buena calidad precio sin grandes pretensiones.

Perfect place if you are in the mood for mussels and fries, with a good Belgium beer.Think of making a reservation before coming. It was quite full, off hours.My favorite restaurant for mussels in Brussels by far.

Léon c'est une institution ! Et on ne change pas une institution.Qu'est ce qu'on mange chez Léon ?Des moules, des moules et encore des moules.Alors c'est vrai que c'est légèrement bruyant, légèrement survolté mais pourquoi y retourne t'on ?Pour ça évidemment.Clientèle cosmopolite bien sûr mais à un jet de pierre de la Grand Place qu'attendre d'autre.Alors longue vie à "Chez Léon".

14:00左右進去用餐，客人沒有很多所以服務員速度蠻快的也很親切，餐點也很快就上齊了淡菜義大利麵真的很好吃因為海鮮本身有鹹味所以麵跟醬汁本體味道蠻淡的，夾在一起吃的話口味剛剛好！然後裡面的蝦米真的給超多！！

Back here after 10 years, it’s my all-time favourite to enjoy the Brussels’ classic fare - mussels! It looks like a tourist trap, but it’s really not. The dishes are reasonably priced and the house beer is awesome. Excellent customer service by the staff as well!

Franchement rien à redire! Les quantités sont énormes et pour le prix c’est un bon deal. Mais la personne qui m’impressionne le plus, c’est la personne à l’accueil! Ça doit bien faire dix ans (ou plus) que je viens sporadiquement chez Léon, et c’est toujours lui qui nous offre un accueil impeccable et en bonus il ne semble même pas vieillir!

Nous avons passé un très agréable moment en famille. Accueil et service chaleureux, qualité des mets irréprochable. Et que dire de la sympathie du personnel! Le temps passé chez Léon était exceptionnel. Les enfants sont conquis par les serveurs kids friendly. Nous y reviendrons à chacune de nos venues sur Bxl. Encore un tout grand merci. Ce fut fantastique! A très bientôt.

老店生意非常好麵包很好吃抹上奶油很搭可惜是冷的前菜蕈菇湯很濃郁好喝也可以沾麵包旁邊的畫很有趣是用淡菜作畫等上菜的時候看一下蠻有趣主菜有一道魚排外面酥酥的裡面很嫩很好吃接下來就是主角淡菜有人一鍋的份量好驚人加上芹菜跟白酒燉煮很好吃很鮮甜也沒有腥味吃完甜點的布丁都快要吃不下了很飽足的一餐

El restaurante es muy popular. Tiene los típicos mejillones hechos de varias formas (para mi gusto pequeños y pasados) el típico Guiso de ternera que lo llaman carbonada (estaba muy muy bueno pero la cantidad escasa para el precio).El servicio muy bueno y muy buena atención por parte de nuestro camarero Ilias.El local es impresionantemente bonito.

Best mussels I’ve had in my life. We did not have a reservation so we got here right when the restaurant opened. We ordered Mussels Gratin which is mussels with cheese, butter and herbs. Sooooo good, coupled it with bread too. We also had the Chez Leon beer as well as "Georges" Pils. Everything was phenomenal! Then last week I came here again. We ordered the Mussels Provencale (butter, tomato, garlic, cheese), Mussels Beurre à l'ail Gratinées (butter, garlic, cheese, fine garlic) and the Waterzooi de Poissons (sole, salmon and monkfish). Washed the food down with Omer Beer and Chez Leon Beer. Can’t wait to try this again!

C'était une excellente expérience. La nourriture, l'ambiance, tout était très sympa. Le personnel a fait de grands efforts pour divertir notre fils de 1,5 ans. Nous tenons particulièrement à remercier Bilal et Mateusz pour leur intérêt et leur préoccupation. Nous reviendrons certainement. Je le recommande fortement.

Food was tasty and kids eat for free! That is a great plus. Service was not good: not much English spoken, it took a lot of reminding to get the order and a baby chair, and a long time to get the food in .overall, it was an experience to remember and to talk about and food wasnt bad. If you go, be patient, don't expect a high standard and be able to deal with crowds

Had our obligatory moules et frites while visiting Brussels. We thought the version with butter and herbs was the best. Make sure to ask for bread to soak up the extra sauce. We also had the version with cheese which was also good, but a bit heavy. Service was very good and prices reasonable.

Il y a toujours la queue dehors , ça ne desempli pas, le rythme est incessant et l'on comprend un peu pourquoi quand on rentre à l'intérieur, une bonne cuisine et un service rapide,cela suffit à notre bonheur.
