Le théâtre de Toone
Le théâtre de Toone a vu le jour en 1830 lorsque Antoine Genty, dit « Toone » ouvre le premier théâtre de marionnettes traditionnelles.
Un théâtre de marionnettes pour adultes, unique au monde, à deux pas de la plus belle place du monde, aujourd’hui traduit en plusieurs langues.
Aujourd’hui, Nicolas Géal, entouré de 6 marionnettistes, adapte des pièces célèbres, tous les styles de spectacles, de « Roméo et Juliette » à « Dracula » en passant par « Faust » ou « Carmen ».
Chez Léon nous sommes très honorés d’avoir recu de Monsieur Géal, 7e du nom, la marionnette « Arlequin ».
Pour le centenaire de notre établissement, notre mascotte « Léon de la moule » a été reproduite en marionnette.

Dined here solo for lunch after arriving in Brussels, as I was looking for a place to eat before my hotel check-in.The restaurant is spacious and spread across two levels. I was seated downstairs, where there was no air conditioning. Later, when I went upstairs to use the restroom, I noticed the upper level was air-conditioned. Since I had just arrived on a warm day, I would have appreciated being seated upstairs if space was available.I ordered the mussels smothered in garlic butter and herbs, and they were delicious. The accompanying fries were good as well, though I would have preferred them a bit crispier.The service was minimal. My order was taken, my food was delivered, and no one returned to check on me for the remainder of the meal. This may be more typical in Europe, where restaurant service tends to be less attentive than in the U.S., but it still would have been nice if someone had checked in at least once.Overall, I enjoyed the food, but with so many great restaurants to choose from in Brussels, this was likely a one-time visit.

I went for a late lunch here and was able to get a meal deal. The mussels were delicious and as a solo traveller, I felt very comfortable dining here. My waitor Stephan was excellent and very friendly making me feel comfortable to ask him anything. Great experience and would definitely come back here. I recommend the mussels, they're delicious.

Iconic restaurant for Moule in Brussels. Food quality is high, just too much butter in my opinion, beers can be improved. Atmosphere is lovely. The building as well. Just a bit too slow the service, we waited 45' for classic moules .

Particles from mussel shells can be a bit of a problem yet the mussels tasted good enough. The french fries were also worth trying. I tried their most basic menu item. The price-performance ratio is reasonable.

The staff was okay. It felt like there was a difference in behavior towards someone eating there solo and someone eating with others but nothing too disproportionate. The mussels were really good although I wasn’t too fond of the fries.

A lovely restaurant with a long history and very reasonable prices. We discovered it while wandering through Brussels and were pleasantly surprised by both the food and the warm hospitality.The staff were friendly, welcoming, and treated every guest with kindness. There was no pressure to leave a tip or spend more, which made the experience even more comfortable. I highly recommend the 500g mussels, beer, and fries set — it was a great value. The pasta paired perfectly with it and was also delicious. The indoor dining area is charming and cozy, with a cute decor that adds to the overall atmosphere. Definitely worth a visit!

Lovely experience for our big family tableof 8 adults and 2 children under 4. Billy the waiter was very friendly and helpful. We ate fast considering the great size of the restaurant, the food was adequate Belgian food, with lots of choice, at reasonable prices, and the toilets were clean. The design is charming. Recommended!
