Jean-Claude Van Damme
Jean-Claude Van Varenberg (born 18 October 1960), professionally known as Jean-Claude Van Damme and abbreviated to JCVD, is a Belgian actor, martial artist, screenwriter, film producer and director best known for his martial-arts action films.
He is also a character whose gaffes and provocative or eccentric statements have often landed him in trouble. However, he remains a unique personality, much loved by Belgians. Whenever he travels to Brussels, he always eats at “Chez Léon”.

Klimatyczne miejsce do spróbowania belgijskiej kuchni. Stoliki są rozmieszczone na zewnątrz i wewnątrz w kilku mniejszych salach na parterze i na piętrze - w efekcie jest kameralnie i przytulnie. Wśród dań klasyki belgijskie; m. in. moule w różnych wariantach i carbonada. Niestety cola smakowała tak, jakby była wymieszana z wodą.

Today our server was Jimmy.I visited this restaurant for dinner two days in a row. Yesterday’s service was excellent—friendly and attentive—which is why I came back.Today’s experience was very different. When I asked for grated cheese for my pasta, because he didn’t give me, Jimmy raised both of his hands and responded in a way that implied, ‘Can’t you see I’m serving food right now?’ It felt dismissive and rude. Later, when our next dish arrived, I asked if I could have two extra plates. His response was, “I have two hands.”I’m honestly wondering when I was supposed to ask. I have never had a server respond like that to such a simple request at any restaurant.After that, he never checked on my table again, and I felt uncomfortable throughout the meal.The most disappointing part happened when we were paying. Jimmy suddenly said, “Welcome to Belgium.” I told him that I had actually enjoyed the restaurant so much that I came back two days in a row. I thought I was ending the experience on a positive note.Instead, he immediately turned the payment terminal toward me with tip options and encouraged me to leave a tip. I couldn’t help but wonder if the sudden friendliness at the end was only because he expected one.This experience was very disappointing compared to yesterday. I understand that everyone can have an off day, but I hope future service can be more friendly and consistent.

Have been there many times and their mussels are consistently amazing - recently also tried the grilled sole, which was also very nice. The inside has a lovely design and the staff is always friendly and polite despite having to run around, as the place is always busy.

Belgium = mussels and fries.Mussels and fries = Chez Léon.Or so it seems.Personally I really wanted to try local dishes during my short Brussels trip, and while googling "recommended restaurants" I found Chez Léon. Honestly though, the experience was kinda unsatisfactory.The waiters were very curt, not particularly friendly, I assume it is because they know tourists will go anyway, so they don't care too much about making a good impression.The mussels were good, the fries were slightly sloppy, not the best I had in Brussels.

I had a fantastic experience at this restaurant! The food was absolutely delicious across the board, but the real standout items were the mussels and the dessert waffle. Both are an absolute must-try if you visit.The service was just as impressive as the meal. A staff member named Zheng was exceptionally friendly and took the time to recommend some great dishes to me. Later on, I accidentally spilled my beer, and another employee, Momo, was incredibly quick to clean it up and even kindly brought me a fresh beer right away. I highly recommend this place for its great food and truly wonderful team!
